DISTRIBUTION

Dovzhenko Centre is the only and biggest state film distributor in Ukraine.

Since 2013, it has been renting out compilations of modern Ukrainian fiction and documentary films, restored film classics as well as animated films produced at Ukrainian Animated Film Studio both in Ukraine and abroad. It actively works in the following areas: cinema, television, and online distribution in and outside Ukraine; accompanies film screening with exclusive events with the participation of directors, members of film crews, and leading experts of the Ukrainian and international film community.

Dovzhenko Centre owns rights to a package of modern Ukrainian fiction and documentary films, restored film classics as well as animated films produced at the Ukrainian Animated Film Studio. It actively works in the following areas: cinema, television, and online distribution in Ukraine.

To obtain rights for a package of films/a film/a fragment,

  1. please choose the required titles from the catalog (see the catalog of films we own rights to below)
  2. fill in the application form at the website
  3. Our representative will contact you to discuss terms and conditions and sign a License Agreement.
  4. Dovzhenko Centre signs a General Screening License Agreement (Sample 2, Sample 3).

FOR PRODUCERS

To grant to Dovzhenko Centre the intellectual property rights in the [state share] of a film made with public procurement, the Producer shall:

  1. make sure that paragraph 5.4.12. of the Film Production Agreement with the Ukrainian State Film Agency provides for entering into an agreement with Dovzhenko Centre about the transfer (alienation) of a share of intellectual property rights in the film. If paragraph 5.4.12. does not provide for the above, while the Producer wants to grant to Dovzhenko Centre the state share of intellectual property rights, sign an additional agreement with the Ukrainian State Film Agency (Sample 1).
  2. obtain an independent valuation of the rights from a licensed independent valuer and send a copy of these documents to Dovzhenko Centre or send to Dovzhenko Centre (contact: Film Promotion Department) a package of documents for an independent valuation of the film rights (to register them), including:
    • Film Production Agreement with the Ukrainian State Film Agency with appendices (scanned copies);
    •  audit report (scanned copies);
    • distribution plan (if available).
    1. reimburse Dovzhenko Centre for the independent valuation of the film rights (the cost shall be defined based on the extent of rights, territorial scope, runtime, etc.) or provide Dovzhenko Centre with an independent valuation report from an independent valuer.
    2. send over to Dovzhenko Centre the original film materials according to the list established by the agreement with the Ukrainian State Film Agency for control and sign an agreement on the alienation of exclusive rights with Dovzhenko Centre (Sample 2).
    3. following the control procedure of the original film materials (resolving all complaints identified herewith) obtain an Act of Acceptance of the original materials and sign an Act of Acceptance and Delivery of film property rights (Sample 3), i.e. the documents certifying the completion of the Film production, with Dovzhenko Centre.
    4. if the Producer intends to distribute the film, sign a License Agreement with Dovzhenko Centre on the assignment of the state share of film rights to them (Sample 4).

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

We distribute restored film classics of the USSR period of Ukraine and new releases of independent Ukraine from 1991 to the present day.

Our catalogue includes films on DCP, 35mm, 16mm, and DVD/Blu-ray, available for theatrical, non-theatrical, and educational screenings in cinemas and other venues both nationally and internationally.
